Triple lockdown in four districts from Sunday midnight; strict action will be taken against violators, 10,000 policemen will be deployed

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has announced that a triple lockdown will be implemented in four districts of the state from tomorrow midnight. The triple lockdown will take effect in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur, and Malappuram districts from tomorrow. The Chief Minister said in a press conference that 10,000 policemen would be deployed to strictly enforce the triple lockdown and strict action would be taken against those violating the regulations and those leaving home unnecessarily.

He said the drone system would be used for surveillance. Newspapers and milk must be delivered before 6 am. The bakery and grocery stores can operate on alternate days. Housemaids are allowed to travel with a pass. The Chief Minister has stated that the boundaries of the districts will be closed. There will be only one way to enter the districts.
