KANNUR: Renowned short story writer T Padmanabhan's 'Prakasham Parathunna Penkutty' will soon become a movie. It is director Jayaraj who will be adapting the story into a movie. Though the shooting of the film had started in Kottayam, it was stopped due to lockdown. Shooting will resume in Kannur after the lockdown. The film is produced by Alvin Antony, Manu Padmanabhan Nair, Biju Thoranathel and Jayachandran Kalladath under the banner of Ananya Films and Y Entertainment. Jayaraj himself is the screenwriter. 'Oppam' fame Meenakshi will play the central character in the film. Debutant Alwin will be the hero. Ramesh Narayanan will compose the music for the film while Nikhil S Praveen will handle cinematography.
Earlier, director Shaji N Karun had tried to adapt Padmanabhan's Kadal into a movie. However, the project did not materialize.
