Vijayakanth admitted to hospital in Chennai due to breathlessness

​​​​​​CHENNAI: Yesteryear actor Vijayakanth, who is the founder of Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) has been admitted to a private hospital in Chennai after he complained of breathlessness. According to sources, he was rushed to the hospital at around 3 am on Wednesday. More details regarding Vijayakanth will be known once the hospital shares an update.

VIJAYAKANTH ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL

Vijayakanth complained of breathing issues in the early hours of Wednesday, May 19, after which he was rushed to a private hospital in Chennai. In the last few years, he had several health issues.

A team of doctors are monitoring his health condition. His party's press statement says that he was admitted to the hospital to get his general health check-up done. He is expected to get discharged in a day or two. Details from the hospital are still awaited.

WHEN VIJAYAKANTH TESTED COVID-19 POSITIVE

In September 2020, Vijayakanth had tested positive for the novel coronavirus. He experienced some Covid-19 complications and had to be monitored at the hospital. After receiving treatment for a few days, he was discharged from the hospital.

Following Vijayakanth, his wife Premalatha had also tested positive for Covid-19. They were discharged from the hospital on October 2 and were asked to be in home isolation till they test negative.
