THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The second Pinarayi cabinet will be sworn-in Thursday evening. Governor Arif Mohammad Khan will administer the oath of office to the new ministers at the function held at the Central Stadium at 3.30 pm. The chief minister will be sworn in first and then the other ministers.
The chief minister and the other designated ministers will reach Vayalar in Alappuzha and Valiya Chudukadu to pay floral tributes at the martyrs memorials at 9 am in the morning. After that, they will reach the capital city for the swearing-in ceremony. The function will adhere to Covid protocol. They will attend a tea party hosted by the Governor at the Raj Bhavan after the swearing-in ceremony. After that, they will go to the Secretariat and attend the first cabinet meet.
More than 40,000 people had attended the swearing in ceremony of the first Pinarayi Government. However, only a maximum of 500 have been allowed entry this time due to Covid-19. There will be a live telecast in channels and in more than five websites of the government. There will be a musical feast attended by many including Yesudas at 2.30 pm.
The high court had yesterday directed to strictly adhere to Covid norms. The kin of the designated ministers can attend the function, is it necessary for the relatives of the MLAs to attend the function, the court had asked.
