Keralites killed in Mumbai barge accident rises to three, search for 25

MUMBAI: The number of Keralites killed in the barge accident in Mumbai due to cyclone Tauktae rose to three. The body of Sumesh V S, a native of Kalpetta in Wayanad was the last to identify. The body of another Keralite identified as Jomish Joseph (36) of Wayanad will reach his house this afternoon. He will be buried in the evening.

The body of Sasin Ismail (29) of Kottayam is kept at the mortuary in J J Hospital in Mumbai. A total of 49 have lost their lives in the accident that happened after the barge sank in the Arabian sea. Many of the bodies have not been identified. A search is on for 25 people.

The navy have so far rescued 188 people. The barge sank on Monday 35 miles off Mumbai in the cyclone Tauktae.
