THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A recent report claimed that Tomin Thachankary will be the new state police chief. It must be noted that state police chief Loknath Bahra's term ends on June 30. Earlier, Kerala Kaumudi had reported that Thachankary might be appointed. Though Vigilance director Sudesh Kumar is also being considered, Thachankary is more likely to be appointed as DGP.
According to sources, the government wants to retain the service of Loknath Behera in the state. Behera may be appointed as an adviser to the Home Department.
Earlier, there were reports that Behera would be appointed as the CBI director. However, Behera recently revealed that he wants to stay in Kerala even after retirement.
