KOCHI: Vigilance has approached the Governor and the central and state governments seeking permission to prosecute the accused, including former Public Works Minister VK Ebrahimkunju, in the Palarivattom flyover case. As Ebrahimkunju was a minister at the time of the incident, permission is required to prosecute him. The charge sheet will be filed as soon as permission is obtained.

The charges include conspiracy, corruption, abuse of power, fraud, and illegal acquisition of wealth. In addition to Ebrahimkunju, there are 13 other accused, including government and public sector officials and contractors. The investigation is being led by DySP Shyamkumar of the Thiruvananthapuram Special Investigation Unit. Vigilance had earlier arrested the fifth accused Ebrahimunju in connection with the case.
