Fishing boats from Poonthura meet with accident, five rescued, search for one THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Three fishing boats from Poonthura met with an accident. There were six people in the boat that capsized. Four were rescued by the coast guard. One person swam to safety.

Search for one of the missing fishermen is continuing. The boats met with the accident following sea erosion when tried to dock them in the Vizhinjam habour. Tennyson and Darwin of Poonthura and Suresh of Valiyathura have been admitted in the hospital.

The coast guard was also active in the rescue operations. One boat has been completely damaged.
