Irregularities in MBBS exam at Azeezia Medical College; police to collect documents from health university

KOLLAM: The police will collect documents from the health university in connection with the irregularities noticed in the MBBS exam at Azeezia Medical College Hospital. The exam paper written with the help of an impersonator will be seized. The statement of the officials who conducted the internal probe will also be recorded.

The investigation team has decided to question the students accused in the case only after collecting all the evidence. The statements of the officers on duty will also be collected soon. The health university found irregularities in the examination of answer sheets of three students in the MBBS examination held at Azeezia Medical College on January 6, 2021.

Impersonation was confirmed in a probe conducted following a change in the students handwriting. There were doubts as to whether impersonation had taken place. Following that, the university issued an order debarring three students and removed teachers who were on exam duty.

The university found that the answers were written after the answer sheets were taken out of the examination hall. However, the college authorities are denying these allegations. The authorities of the college said the exam was supervised by a representative of the university and the CCTV footages are a proof for it. Medical college officials claim that there is no hint of the answer sheet taken out in the internal probe conducted.

The authorities of the college assert that the students may have exchanged the answer sheets amongst themselves and have written the answers. The irregularities were noticed in the exam of the students who got admission in 2012. All the three are continuing their studies after failing the exams repeatedly.
