THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Chief Minister has issued a stern warning against the fake propaganda on social media and online media that one will die within two years if he is vaccinated. "The scientist who said to have given the statement has revealed that it is completely false", CM Vijayan said.
"At a time when human survival is facing a major crisis, it is an unjustifiable crime for those who are campaigning to make it even more difficult. Everyone should be careful not to spread such messages. The government will take legal action against those who lead the campaigns".
"Vaccination is the most effective weapon to overcome the pandemic. In Kerala, the prevalence of the second wave is lower among those over 60 years of age who were vaccinated in the first phase. Most of the infected did not have a serious condition. All of this is evidence that vaccination is effective. Therefore, no one should be caught up in propaganda and not get vaccinated".
The CM said that the increase in the spread of the disease in Malappuram was not due to lack of vaccination. "The situation there is getting under control. The spread of the disease can be controlled within a few days".
"The Centre should vaccinate those over 45 years of age. Vax is out of stock right now which has been informed to the Centre. Hopefully the vaccines will be available soon", the CM said.
"Requests for vaccination to be given priority are coming from various quarters. There is no point in prioritizing without enough stock", he added. The CM said that the matter will be decided when the vaccine arrives.
