POCSO case against CPM branch secretary for sexually abusing girls

KANNUR: A POCSO case has been registered against a CPM local leader for sexually abusing girls. A case has been registered against Prashanth, Kuttyatoor CPM branch secretary. The CPM has expelled him from the party soon after the police registered a case.

The incident happened two months ago. Prashant called the girl of eighth class when no one was at home. As he started talking lewdly, she ran from the house. She told her parents about it. Two weeks later, he tried to sexually abuse a class tenth girl in the area.

The locals after knowing all these informed the childline. Childline activists recorded the statement of the children. Based on this, the Mayyil police registered a POCSO case against Prashanth two days ago. With this, Prashanth went underground. Prashant is a construction worker,
