K K Rema blasts Captain in assembly over drawbacks of home department

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: What we expected has happened. Vadakara MLA K K Rema utilised her first opportunity to speak in the assembly as a member of the opposition very well. She was speaking on the vote of thanks for the governor's policy address. She pointed the drawbacks in the policy address and also reminded the house on the lapses of the previous home department.

Pointing the failure of the previous government's home policy, she also cited examples of it. Investigations on custody murders, fake encounters and even incidents of child abuse were subverted. There were many incidents of humiliation during the tenure of the previous government. She also asked whether this government is adopting the same police policy.

She opined that the policy address presented in the house was not at all new. A project like K Rail would evict more than 20,000 families. KIIFB will push Kerala into a huge debt trap. The MLA said the government should be prepared to openly say that this is a debt trap and described the policy address as fraudulent.
