KOZHIKODE: A 46-year-old woman has been admitted to the hospital as she collapsed after administering two doses of Covid vaccine together. Rajila, wife of Nisar of Karakandi near Teekuni in Kozhikode, has been admitted to the medical college hospital. Rajila took the jab on Tuesday evening and fainted on reaching home.

Nisar said Rajila is unable to get up without help and has uneasiness in her left eye. Rajila and Nisar took the shots at the Ayancherry Community Health Centre. Nisar said they asked the authorities why Rajila was given vaccine twice. They were made to sit there for three hours. When asked them to give in writing that two doses of vaccine were given, their reply was that the RMO was not there.

Shortly after returning home, Rajila collapsed and was rushed to a private hospital in Vadakara. They directed to shift her to the medical college as she had symptoms of a stroke. The hospital authorities said the woman was not administered two doses of the vaccine. They said the first attempt to administer the vaccine failed ad the vaccination was given in the second attempt. District officer said a report has been sought from the doctor concerned.
