Kodakara hawala money case: Police to record BJP state chief K Surendran’s statement

THRISSUR: The police will record the statement of BJP state chief K Surendran in the Kodakara hawala money case. His statement is being taken as the police firmly believe that the BJP leaders are aware of the money.

Police said his statement need to be recorded based on new revelations. BJP Alappuzha district treasurer K G Kartha had told police that the state leadership knows for whom the money came. The investigation team is of the view that this statement is important. It is in this context the statement of the state president is taken.

Some other BJP leaders will be summoned before recording his statement. Police have questioned many BJP leaders in the case. However, the assessment is that the statements of many leaders are mismatching. The investigation team also clarified that circumstantial and scientific evidences are not matching the statements.
