Congress to witness Sudhakaran’s era, K Sudhakaran declared KPCC president 

​​​NEW DELHI: Senior Congress leader and Kannur MP K Sudhakaran will preside over the KPCC. Rahul Gandhi has informed the decision of the high command to the senior leader.

K Sudhakaran acquired a unique position in Kerala’s political landscape by becoming the chief of Kannur DCC surpassing Karunakaran led ‘I’ group and Anthony’s ‘A’ group. In the ’90s when vengeance politics between RSS and CPM was at its peak, he successfully defended the party. Even though he faced criticism for inspiring the Congress workers to take arms to defend the party, he became a cult leader of Congress and asserted his position as a powerful leader in the minds of thousands of Congress workers in Kerala.

Even though Sudhakaran follows a furious political style, he was loved and revered by the workers of the Congress party. As a popular leader, Sudhakaran has a strong influence on Kasargod and Kannur. Whereas his critics say the party is very weak and uninfluential in the Kannur district and Sudhakaran has not worked to better the party’s position. Sudhakaran has become KPCC president rejecting all these criticisms.
