THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mullappally Ramachandran stepped down from the post of KPCC chief after K Sudhakaran replaced him yesterday. He hiked the salary of employees of Indira Bhavan before stepping down from the post. He gave a hike of Rs 1000 each. He had earlier given a reward of Rs 2,000 to those who came for work during Covid time.

Mullappally called Sudhakaran and congratulated him after he was announced as the new KPCC chief. Mullappally left after returning the key of the Innova given by the party. He also bowed at the Gandhi statue installed at Indira Bhavan and left in his own ambassador car.

There were only a few leaders led by T Siddique MLA and staff to see him off. Mullappally spent the money collected through Kerala tour to run the office. The employees said he was also able to save a considerable amount of money. After Mullappally became the chief, he had not sought any financial help from the AICC.
