KOCHI: The NIA has arrested one more accused in the Thiruvananthapuram gold smuggling case. The NIA arrested Mansoor Ahmed, an aide of Faisal Fareed, the main conspirator in the gold smuggling case.
Mansoor Ahmed, arrested in a check case in Dubai, was deported from there. Mansoor, who reached Nedumbassery airport on Wednesday, was arrested by the NIA team. From there, he was taken to the NIA office in Kochi. The accused will be produced in the court today after preliminary interrogation.
The NIA has found that it was Mansoor Ahmed who gave all possible help to Faisal Fareed in the gold smuggling. Following this, he was also arraigned in the case. Meantime, Faisal Fareed, the main accused in the case is still in Dubai. The NIA has not been able to bring him to the state.
