THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Technological University has decided to permit colleges to conduct final semester engineering exams online in the context of Covid. The exams will be held between June 28 and July 12. The question paper will be prepared and evaluated by the teachers in the colleges. About 25,000 students will appear for the final semester exams.

The university will hand over sample question papers to the colleges. From this, the teachers of each department will prepare the original question paper and give it to the students through email and WhatsApp systems.

The answer sheets should be scanned at home and sent back. It will be printed out and evaluated by the teachers. The examination which was three hours has been reduced to 2 hours and 15 minutes and 100 marks to 70 marks. For those who are not satisfied with the grade of this examination, a standard written test will be conducted after Covid. This exam will be considered as the first chance.

The university said that the decision was taken because college graduates who did not receive a degree certificate by the end of July will find it difficult to join for jobs or pursue higher studies.
