KOCHI: Filmmaker Ayesha Sultana approached the high court in the sedition case taken against her. She has approached the court seeking anticipatory bail. She filed the plea via a senior advocate in Kochi. The court will consider her plea tomorrow.
Her plea said the sedition case against her will not exist and that the police have charged her after misinterpreting the references made in a channel debate. The references were not deliberately made. Had apologized after stoking a controversy. Her bail plea said that there is a possibility of arrest if she reached Kavaratti.
Filmmaker and writer Ayesha Sultana was charged with sedition for criticizing the government in Lakshadweep during a TV debate. The case has been registered under sections 124 A and 153 B. A case was registered against her on the complaint of BJP Lakshadweep chief for calling Lakshadweep administrator Praful Patel a bio-weapon during a channel debate.
