THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Alathur MP Ramya Haridas has lodged a complaint with the governor over the incident where she was threatened by CPM workers.

"It is hoped that the government will take action against the culprits. This intolerance cannot be accepted", she wrote on Facebook.

Ramya added that the decision is to go for a legal battle. The complaint was lodged at the Raj Bhavan along with UDF MPs.

Ramya was threatened by CPM activists near the Alathur police station on Sunday afternoon. Ramya, who was traveling in a vehicle through Alathur, was talking to Haritha Karma Sena activists near the police station when the CPM members, including Nasser, a former Alathur panchayat president, came to stop her. The MP also said that the former panchayat president and his team had verbally abused her. Ramya has lodged a complaint with the police against eight persons in this regard.
