Young couple killed in scooter-container lorry collision

KODUNGALLUR: A husband and wife, who were travelling on a scooter, were killed when a container lorry hit them on the Kottapuram bridge. The deceased have been identified as Edavilangu native Muhammad Shan (34) and his wife Haseena (30). The couple was returning from the hospital when the accident took place.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident took place when Shan tried to overtake the container lorry. The incident took place at 5.30 pm yesterday. Both Shan and Haseena died on the spot as the lorry ran over them. Shan, who was working in Saudi Arabia, returned home on June 8. The couple has two children: Aman Ferkhan and Riya Fathima.
