KOLLAM: Terrorist links are suspected in connection with the bomb recovered in Pathanapuram. The case will be investigated by State Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). Police and ATS will jointly inspect the area today.
There are reports that some extremist groups had conducted weapons training in the area. Central investigative agencies have sought details on the incident. Tamil Nadu Q Branch had conducted an investigation here two months ago.
The explosives were found in a cashew plantation which is under the forest department in Pathanapuram. The area is regularly inspected by a team led by beat forest officer. The gelatin sticks, detonator battery and wires were found during an inspection yesterday.
