Higher secondary practical examinations postponed to June 28, VHSE practicals to begin on June 21

plus-two

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The commencement of higher secondary practical examinations in the state has been postponed to June 28. The change is in view of the need for more time to practice for the practical exam. Students can attend school for training up to June 25. The VHSE and NSQF practical exams will begin on the 21st. The decision has been taken to start the university examinations from the 28th.

The exams were shifted from the scheduled date over students' demand citing the inadequacy of digital classes and the lack of adequate practical training. It is up to the respective schools to look into the situation and prepare training.

Students will be divided into batches for the practical examination. Those who are Covid positive will be allowed to appear for exams separately after recovery. Those having symptoms should be given separate seating. Maximum number of laptops should be provided for computer practice. The recommendations are to limit the number of practicals to be done and to minimize practicals using tools that are handed over.

The examination will be conducted in such a way that the practicalities using a microscope in botany will be avoided as much as possible and instead students will be asked to answer from clues. The examination will be divided into batches for Chemistry and Mathematics. Directions were given to strictly adhere to Covid protocol and complete the exams within the stipulated date.
