Kerala clocks 12,443 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, 11,639 cases through contact, 115 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 12,443 COVID-19 cases on Saturday. Among these, 11,639 persons developed the disease through contact, including 653 cases without an identified source of infection. 78 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 73 health workers contracted the disease on Friday.

13,145 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 1,06,861 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 115 deaths due to the virus on Friday with the toll rising to 11,948.

District wise breakup of positive cases:
Thiruvananthapuram 1777, Ernakulam 1557, Thrissur 1422, Malappuram 1282, Kollam 1132, Palakkad 1032, Kozhikode 806, Alappuzha 796, Kottayam 640, Kannur 527, Kasargod 493, Pathanamthitta 433, Idukki 324, Wayanad 222.

1,21,743 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 10.22.

Thiruvananthapuram-Athiyannur, Azhoor, Kadinamkulam, Karode, Manampur, Mangalore, Panavoor, Pothencode, Ernakulam-Chittatukara, Palakkad-Nagalassery, Nenmara, Vallapuzha, Malappuram-Thirunavaya, Mooppainad in Wayanad district, Kasaragod-Bedadukka and Madhur.
