Sedition charge: Kavaratti police to quiz Ayesha Sultana today

KAVARATTI: The Kavaratti police will question filmmaker Ayesha Sultana today in the sedition case. She will appear at the police station around 4.30 pm. The high court had earlier directed her to appear for the interrogation.

The court had directed that interim bail should be granted in case of arrest. Ayesha Sultana arrived in Lakshadweep with her lawyer yesterday. She said that she has full faith in the judiciary and will continue to fight for the people of the island even if police arrests her.

Meantime, administrator Praful Khoda Patel who was in Lakshadweep had returned to Delhi. Reports said the administrator was summoned to Delhi to discuss the present situation in the island.
