THRISSUR: BJP state chief K Surendran said people around the world are getting closer to yoga during the time of Covid-19. Yoga gives a ray of hope during the pandemic. That is why the central government has given importance to yoga in the new national education policy, he said after inaugurating International Yoga Day celebrations organized by the BJP district committee in Thrissur.
The Pinarayi Vijayan government should be ready to include the study of yoga and training as part of the curriculum. Yoga can find a solution to the mental problems and depression during the time of the pandemic. Let yoga be able to give health and peace to all, he said.
District president K K Aneesh Kumar presided over the function. BJP national executive committee member P K Krishnadas, state vice president M S Sampoorna, state spokesperson B Gopalakrishnan, retired major Dr Gopinathan Nair and district general secretary R Hari were present. Yoga training was also given under the guidance of yoga teacher Babu Karanthara.
