Woman found hanging at husband’s house, relatives allege murder, brutally beaten before death

KOLLAM: In a suspected case of suicide, a 24-year-old woman was found hanging at her husband’s residence. She has been identified as Vismaya (24) of Kaithod in Nilamel. She was found hanging Monday morning at her husband Kiran Kumar's house in Sasthanada near Sasthamkotta.

She was beaten brutally before her death. She had sent the pictures of it to her relatives through WhatsApp. Soon after this, they got the message of her death. Her relatives alleged that her death was a murder following dowry harassment.

Vismaya’s parents said that her body was shifted even before they reached the house. Kiran Kumar is an officer in the Department of Motor Vehicles. The couple got married in March 2020.

District crime branch DySP Manoj will investigate the complaint of her relatives. The women's commission has registered a suo moto a case in the incident. The commission has sought a report from Kollam Rural SP.
