Kerala records 12,617 COVID cases on Tuesday; 141 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 12,617 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday. Among these, 11,719 persons developed the disease through contact, including 766 cases without an identified source of infection. 60 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 72 health workers contracted the disease on Tuesday.

11,730 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 1,00,437 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 141 deaths due to the virus on Tuesday with the toll rising to 12,295.

District wise breakup of positive cases:
Malappuram 1603, Kollam 1525, Ernakulam 1491, Thiruvananthapuram 1345, Thrissur 1298, Palakkad 1204, Kozhikode 817, Alappuzha 740, Kottayam 609, Kannur 580, Pathanamthitta 441, Kasargod 430, Idukki 268, Wayanad 266.

1,17,720 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 10.72.
