KAVARATTI: The Lakshadweep police are questioning filmmaker Ayesha Sultana again in the sedition case. Ayesha appeared at the Kavaratti police station around 10.30 am. She will be released on bail after her arrest is registered.
Ayesha Sultana, who was released after questioned last Sunday, was asked to stay on the island for three more days. Meanwhile, Lakshadweep Collector Askar Ali came forward yesterday with allegations that Ayesha summoned for questioning had violated Covid norms. The collector claimed that Ayesha was given permission to reach the police station and to be in quarantine on the island.
She had attended panchayat members meet. She also visited treatment centres of Covid patients. She visited other places of the island. The collector warned that action would be taken if she repeats this.
