THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A recent report claimed that Women's commission chief MC Josephine will be soon removed from the post. Video footage of Josephine speaking rudely to a woman who called to complain has been widely circulated on social media. The chairperson is now facing strong criticism from various quarters of society. It is learnt that the government may take stern action on the issue.
This was not the first time that Josephine has landed in a controversy. When a girl in the CPM's youth wing lodged a sexual harassment complaint against CPM leader and former Shoranur MLA PK Sasi, Josephine reacted against it by stating that the party had its own court and police. This statement made by the Women's Commission chief had put the party on the defensive.
