POCSO case against Youth Congress leader, police issue lookout notice

KOCHI: Police have issued a lookout notice against a Youth Congress leader in connection with a POCSO case. The lookout notice has been issued against Youth Congress Ernakulam district secretary Shan Mohammad. A case has been registered against him at the Pothanikkad police station in Ernakulam district.

The lookout notice issued by the police states that the accused is absconding and those who have any information about him should inform the police. He has been booked as the second accused in the case for helping an accused who molested a 10th class student.

Riyas, the first accused in the case, has been remanded. During the ensuing investigation, the police registered a case against Shan Mohammad for helping the accused, threatening the victim, and concealing information.

The case is being probed by a special investigation team led by Muvattupuzha DYSP CG Sanalkumar. The probe team has extended its search for Shan Mohammad to various states including Karnataka, Goa, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra.
