THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A complaint has been lodged against state women's commission member Shahida Kamal. Akhila Khan, a native of Vattapara, Thiruvananthapuram, had lodged a complaint with the DGP alleging that she had cheated the government by showing false educational qualifications. The complaint alleges that Shahida Kamal is claiming educational qualifications that are backed by fake documents and thereby misleading the people and the government.
In her affidavits when she contested the elections in 2009 and 2011, Shahida mentioned only her B.Com degree as her educational qualification. But in a video shared on Facebook, Shahida says that she studied B.Com at St. John's College in Anchal between1987-90 but did not pass the exam. However, Shahida did not say in the video in which year she graduated or from which university. In the video, Shahida says that she graduated from the International Open University.
