ISRO espionage case: CBI's Santoshkumar Chalke to unravel the conspiracy

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CBI's Santoshkumar Chalke will come to Kerala to investigate the conspiracy behind the ISRO espionage case in which 18 people including police and IB officers were named accused. Santosh, who is the DIG of the Special Crime Unit in Delhi, will lead the team consisting of Deputy Superintendent Arun Rawat and six other officers in the investigation. Rawat and his team reached Thiruvananthapuram on Monday. Santosh, a 2004 batch Rajasthan cadre officer, will reach Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday. The CBI office in Thiruvananthapuram will be the camp. The team will start the investigation by recording the statements of Nambinarayanan. The CBI said it would issue notice to all the accused soon. The investigation will extend to the Maldives.

The CBI has to prove the conspiracy that took place 27 years ago by top officials of the police and intelligence bureau. It should also find the reason for fabricating the case. The CBI is examining whether an attempt was made to prevent India from achieving cryogenic technology.
