Kerala logs 13,658 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, 12,833 cases through contact, 142 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 13,658 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. Among these, 12,833 persons developed the disease through contact, including 689 cases without an identified source of infection. 69 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 67 health workers contracted the disease on Wednesday.

11,808 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 1,00,881 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 142 deaths due to the virus on Wednesday with the toll rising to 13,235.

Malappuram 1610, Thrissur 1500, Thiruvananthapuram 1470, Ernakulam 1448, Palakkad 1273, Kozhikode 1254, Kollam 1245, Alappuzha 833, Kasargod 709, Kannur 634, Kottayam 583, Pathanamthitta 457, Wayanad 372, Idukki 270.

1,40,727 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 9.71.
