NEW DELHI: The second cabinet reshuffle of the Modi government is expected to take place tomorrow. The list of the new ministers will be released soon. It is learned that the swearing in will take place tomorrow evening. Ahead of the cabinet reshuffle, Union Minister for Social Justice Thawarchand Gehlot has been appointed Governor of Karnataka.

Former Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Jyotiraditya Scindia who quit the congress party, Bengal MPs Shantanu Thakur, Nisith Pramanik, JD (U) leader RCP Singh and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi have almost confirmed ministerial berths. Many of them have arrived in Delhi for the swearing-in. Jyotiraditya Scindia will arrive in the national capital this evening.

Maharashtra BJP leader and MP Narayan Rane has also reached Delhi. He is also likely to be inducted in the Modi cabinet. Narayan Rane from the Konkan region is a leader who left the Congress and joined the BJP. Attempts to give YSR Congress a ministerial post in the NDA turned to be unsuccessful.

BJP sources indicate that the reshuffle is aimed at the 2024 general elections and the upcoming UP assembly elections. It is heard that there will be six ministers from Uttar Pradesh in the union cabinet.

Pashupati Paras, LJP rebel and Chirag Paswan's father-in- law is expected to get the ministerial post lying vacant after the demise of Ram Vilas Paswan. Everyone is wondering how much representation Kerala will get in the first reshuffle since the second Modi government came to power.
