KASARGOD: Criticisms were showered at BJP state chief K Surendran at the party state office bearers' meeting. A section at the meeting demanded that K Surendran should take moral responsibility for the defeat as the workers had lost faith in the present leadership. Leaders of the party led by P K Krishnadas and Sobha Surendran demanded Surendran's resignation.
The office bearers pointed that the election defeat at the district and constituency levels should be discussed in detail and the party should be re-organized. The failure of the leadership was the reason for the severe defeat in the assembly elections.
K Surendran said discipline is important in the party in his introductory speech. Action will be taken to correct those who violate discipline. K Surendran reminded the leaders that BJP is not Congress.
K Surendran was asked to appear for interrogation in the Kodakara hawala money case today but he had informed the investigation team that the party meeting was fixed earlier.
