IDUKKI: The father of the six-year-old girl, who was sexually abused and murdered by DYFI activist Arjun, said that the case should not be politicized. He said that the accused Arjun had not received any consideration as a DYFI activist and that the police were able to nab him within three days.
The girl's father said that he was fully satisfied with the investigation and that the accused should be given maximum punishment.
Earlier, the Youth Congress and the BJP had alleged that the CPM was giving protection to Arjun, a local DYFI leader. Meanwhile, DYFI responded by stating that the accused had been expelled from the organization on the day of his arrest. It also alleged that the Youth Congress was trying to divert attention from the POCSO case in Muvattupuzha.
