CHENNAI: The Madras High Court rejected the plea filed by actor Vijay seeking a reduction in import duty on his luxury car. The actor approached the court seeking a reduction in import duty on a Rolls Royce Ghost car imported from England in 2012. Justice S M Subramanian who rejected his plea criticized the actor. The court told the actor that he should set an example to lakhs of fans by paying tax correctly.
The court fined Vijay Rs one lakh and criticized saying the actor had many fan groups. The court asked the actor not to behave like a reel hero in real life. The court said the amount should go to the Chief Minister's Disaster Relief Fund within two weeks.
