Dr Mohammed Asheel transferred to Payyannur Hospital

KANNUR: Dr Mohammed Asheel, who was shifted from the post of executive director of social security mission, has been appointed to an insignificant post. He has been appointed as the medical officer of the casualty department in Payyannur Taluk Hospital.

The department approved Asheel's request to return to his former department and permitted him to work as an assistant surgeon in the health department. Soon after that, he was transferred to Payyannur Hospital. Meantime, it is alleged that the move is by a section of the CPM.

Dr Mohammed Asheel was in the forefront during the first Pinarayi government, in leading Covid prevention activities. He was one of the key players behind the reputation of the health department under the leadership of former health minister K K Shailaja. Asheel and Gender Park CEO Mohammad Suneesh, who had a good relationship with the then health minister, have now been removed from their posts. Mohammad Suneesh has been transferred to Anganwadi Welfare Fund Board.
