2.49 lakh more doses of vaccine reaches state, 1.49 lakh people in Kerala receives jab against Covid on Thursday

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state has received 2,49,140 doses of Covishield vaccine, Health Minister Veena George said. Thiruvananthapuram received 84,500 doses of vaccine, Kochi 97,640 doses and Kozhikode 67,000 doses. With this, 1,50,53,070 doses of vaccine were made available across the state. Of this, the state purchased a total of 13,42,540 doses of vaccine, including 12,04,960 doses of Covishield vaccine and 1,37,580 doses of Covaxin. A total of 1,37,10,530 doses of vaccine were provided by the centre, including 1,22,70,300 doses of Covishield vaccine and 14,40,230 doses of Covaxin.

As of this evening, 1,49,434 people in the state have been vaccinated. There were 1,234 vaccination centers. A total of 1,63,55,303 people have been vaccinated across the state so far. Of these, 1,18,53,826 were given the first dose and 44,01,477 were given the second dose. The first dose was given to 35.48 percent of the population and 49.38 percent of the population over 18 years of age. 13.48 per cent of the population and 18.75 per cent of those over 18 years of age were given the second dose of vaccine.
