THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A huge collection of ganja was seized while trying to smuggle the stuff to Kerala. Two including a Malayalee were arrested for selling ganja in Vizhinjam for more than four years. The Chennai Narcotics Control Bureau seized 327.86 kg of ganja from Thiruvallur in Tamil Nadu.
The two arrested are M Sreenath, native of Kaliyakkavilai in Thiruvananthapuram and Dubash Shankar, a native of Chennai and driver of the lorry. Sreenath had been selling ganja in Vizhinjam for the last four years. He is also an intermediary in the sale of it. They tried to smuggle the ganja in a special cavity made in the vehicle. A detailed search by Narcotics Control Bureau officials found the ganja in packets in the special compartments.
The seized contraband was brought from Annavaram in Andhra Pradesh and was destined to Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala.
