Dog tied to car and dragged along road at Ayarkunnam; youth arrested

KOTTAYAM: A youth was arrested for tying a dog behind the car and dragging it along the road. He has been identified as Kooroppada native Jehu Thomas. The incident took place at Ayarkunnam in Kottayam. Although the police initially refused to register a case, they were forced to intensify the search after the CCTV footage of the incident went viral on social media. Following this, Jehu was identified and taken into custody.

The dog was tied behind a speeding car on the Ayarkunnam-Lakkattoor road at 6.30 am yesterday. Locals who witnessed the incident approached public activists. CCTV footage of the vehicle was obtained from the house of Isaac, a native of Ayarkunnam.
