THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The DIG's investigation report states that there were lapses from the police in the Kundara sexual assault case. During the preliminary investigation, the station house officer came to know that the allegations of the complainant were not true. However, the investigation report states that the Kundara police, which conducted a preliminary inquiry into the complaint of a woman, did not settle the complaint legally.

Thiruvananthapuram Range IG Sanjay Kumar Gurudin investigated the matter. The report was handed over to the DGP. The complaint was lodged on the 28th of last month in an incident that took place two months ago. No clear statement or evidence was produced for the complaint. The DIG also said that there were political motives behind the complaint. The father of the complainant is an accused in a criminal case and was expelled from the NCP. According to the report, Padmakaran, against whom the complainant raised allegations, was behind this.
