Lapse in probing Kundara abuse case, CI transferred

KOLLAM: The CI, who faltered in the investigation in the Kundara abuse case, has been transferred. Kundara CI S Jayakrishnan was transferred. The relocation was based on the DIG's report that the CI had faltered in the case probe.

The statement was recorded 24 days after the woman lodged the complaint. S Manjulal, who was CI at Neendakara Coastal Police Station is the new CI in Kundara.

Thiruvananthapuram Range DIG Sanjay Kumar Gurudin had reported that the police had faltered in the case. During the preliminary investigation, the station house officer came to know that the allegations of the complainant were not true. However, the Kundara police, which conducted a preliminary probe as it's complaint of a woman, did not resolve the complaint legally, according to the investigation report.
