More than one lakh Covid cases reported in state in five days, situation critical in five districts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The spread of Covid in Kerala continues to be severe. More than one lakh cases have been reported in the state in the last five days. More than 20,000 people are being confirmed with the virus every day.

The situation is worse in Malappuram, Kozhikode, Thrissur, Palakkad and Ernakulam. 20,624 people were confirmed of the virus yesterday. 80 deaths in the last few days were confirmed of the virus. With this, the death toll rose to 16,781.

Meantime, the central team which arrived in the state to assess the Covid situation will visit Pathanamthitta and Kottayam today. The team of experts will call on the health minister tomorrow.
