Retired airport official and daughter found hanging

RAMANATTUKARA: Calicut Airport Retd. Technical Director Peethambaran (61) and his daughter Sharika (31) were found hanging at their home in Vaidyarangadi in Kozhikode.

Both Peethambaran and Sharika were found hanging using two pieces of the same saree. It is learnt that Sharika suffered from mental illness. She was unmarried.

It was Peethambaran's wife Prabahavathi who discovered the two bodies by around 3.30 pm. Police have received a suicide note written by Sharika. Its content was not disclosed.

Asst.Commissioner AM Siddique visited the spot. Forensic experts also examined the scene. The bodies were shifted to the hospital for postmortem.
