THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM Acting Secretary and LDF Convener A Vijayaraghavan alleged that the central government was taking a negative stance in allocating the vaccine to Kerala. He said that the efforts of the central government to create a vaccine crisis are reprehensible. He also demanded that the Centre should take immediate action to provide the vaccine in Kerala, which is extremely keen on vaccine distribution.

"More and more cases are being reported in the state as there are more tests. The population of Kerala is 3.51 crore. The state is facing a severe shortage of vaccines. The UDF and BJP are undermining the efforts of the health department to tackle Covid. The Chief Minister had asked the Prime Minister for 90 lakh doses of vaccine. The state has also asked the central team, which arrived in July, for 60 lakh doses of the vaccine," Vijayaraghavan said.
