KOCHI: The stand that everyone needs government job is only in Kerala and this mentality of the youth should change, said the Kerala High Court. A government job is not the end of one’s life, the court said orally. The court made the reference after rejecting a plea filed by a person who lost his job due to his inability to issue an experience certificate at the time requested by the PSC. The plea was considered by a bench of Justices Alexander Thomas and A Badruddin.
‘75% of the government revenue is spent on salaries and other benefits. MSc students can raise goats, but we are not ready for that. Government job is not the end of one’s life. The country's GDP is in a low situation due to the crisis of Covid. Only the central government has the right to print notes,’ the court said.
Meantime, PSC has approached the high court against the order of the state administrative tribunal seeking extension of the rank list of last grade servants. The PSC demanded that the extension would lose the opportunity of new candidates and therefore the order should be stayed. The chief minister had the other day made it clear in the assembly that the rank lists would not be extended. Candidates are on strike in front of the secretariat in protest against the government's stand.
