Pulse Oximeter developed by College of Engineering Trivandrum handed over to health department

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The College of Engineering Trivandrum had taken the initiative to address the shortage of pulse oximeter in Kerala following the second Covid wave. The Pulse Oximeter was developed locally by a team of teachers and alumni led by the College's Electronics and Communication Department.

The functioning of the device was tested with the help of Sree Chithira Thirunal Institute and Keltron was commissioned to manufacture it on an industrial scale. The college authorities handed over the developed pulse oximeter to the health department. Principal Jiji CV handed over 100 pulse oximeters to Minister Veena George at a function held at the office. Dr Biji Jacob, Dr Santosh Kumar S, Jayakrishna Raj G, James T G, Binu LS and Joy P attended the function.
