shihab-thangal

KOZHIKODE: Hours after the Enforcement Directorate issued a notice to IUML state president Panakkad Sayed Hyderali Shihab Thangal in connection with an investigation into alleged transactions of unaccounted money through the bank account of Muslim League's mouthpiece Chandrika, Thangal's son Mueen Ali lashed out at PK Kunhalikutty. Mueen Ali said that Kunhalikutty had not intervened in the crisis related to the Chandrika newspaper and that he had been managing the funds for four decades. It was Kunhalikutty who appointed Finance Manager Sameer. Mueen Ali also alleged that the party had shrunk to one person.

While claiming that there had never been such an incident in the history of the Panakkad family, Mueen Ali added that Hyderali Shihab Thangal was under a lot of stress. On Thursday, the ED had sent another notice to Hyderali Shihab Thangal, the chairman and MD of Chandrika, in the case of money laundering of Rs 10 crore through the newspaper.
